Relax, Restore, Reconnect, Recover

Relax

Our bodies are amazing! Think of all the things we can do. Putting it all together in order to function efficiently and effectively requires a complex yet delicate balance of our all bodies systems, otherwise called homeostasis. However, with our busy lives and the stresses and strains placed on our bodies, we may not always feel in balance. Relaxation often takes a back seat as over work and stress drive our lives. Over time this takes its toll on our bodily systems compromising our ability to repair damaged tissues and fight infection. Many common ailments are directly associated to our way of life and occur after long periods of neglect. Our bodies need to counter balance the effects of hard work, physical exercise and stress with rest and relaxation. Massage Therapy is a safe and effective way to directly invest in taking control of our body’s physical, mental and emotional balancing act.

Restore

Therapeutic touch stimulates the neurological pathways between the body and brain, allowing us to re-discover our bodies that we've long taken for granted. Massage increases our body’s production of the chemicals responsible for calming anxiety, improving mood and restoring our sense of well-being and has also been thought to improve mental clarity, cognitive skills and memory. Who could say no to that!

Reconnect

As the demands of constant connectivity and the use of technology, media and the internet continue to fuel our working and social lives, we are in constant contact with others, and yet have become less connected to ourselves. How often do we take time to slow down, sit quietly and reconnect with our body’s inner thoughts, feelings and emotions? Massage Therapy through therapeutic touch can facilitate that reconnection to ourselves.

Recover

Injury can happen suddenly and aggressively causing trauma but can also be subtle occurring over time, through wear-and-tear, repetitive strain and poor postural alignment. Massage Therapy, can help release old scar tissue, assists in increasing ease of movement after a period of reduced or immobility and increase circulation promoting the body’s self-repair. Massage can release chemicals in the body called endorphins, which are known to alleviate pain.

Should you be involved in an car accident, the State of Oregon requires motor vehicle insurance providers to cover massage under your personal injury protection (PIP) coverage. I will directly bill your insurance provider, letting you focus on feeling better!

Whatever your reasons for considering massage, make time for yourself, you deserve it!
